I’m not sure what state you live in, but the company I work for has a mentoring program when you join up with them. They have some wonderful agents (I’m not just saying that either because I work for them, its totally true) contact me and let me know if you would like more information.

You go to Real Estate school – pass your test and get your agent license – which you then hang in a Real Estate office. The Broker in that office is responsible for overseeing you. There is a charge for taking up space in the office or some will just take a split of all your commission. They really do not want a part timer taking up space – they want someone who will produce income for the office.
Just taking the school will give you a wonderful understanding of the business and you could then have a better idea of what to watch out for.
